Agrociencia is a scientific journal established in 1966 with the tradition and support of Colegio de Postgraduados, an Institution for Teaching, Research and Services in Agricultural Sciences. It was an annual publication until 1971. From 1972 to 1989 it was published every three months; in 1990 periodicity and presentation were modified but, most important, an Academic Department of Editors and Reviewers was set up and the national and international scientific community was invited to publish in the journal. From 1990 to 1995 Agrociencia was divided in seven Series.

Between 1996 to 1999 there was an editorial independence and the seven Series were integrated into one which was published every three months starting with Volume 30, Number 1 (1996). From 2000 to 2007 it was bimonthly and each article was published in Spanish and English simultaneously. Since 2007 Agrociencia appears every 45 days. 

The publication of Agrociencia starting in 2019 occurs only in digital format. In 2020, user registration and access for consultation have been incorporated into the OJS digital platform, and its format is only digital. In 2023 it will be published only in English.
